New York State Police troopers conducted a special two-day detail looking out for impaired drivers as they continue their STOP-DWI crackdown. In total, 11 motorists were busted during the detail.
Among those arrested include:
Wednesday, Feb. 28:
- State police troopers from the Wurtsboro barracks stopped Monroe resident James Oshea, 66, on Route 17 in Mamakating after he was involved in a motor vehicle crash. While interviewing Oshea, it was determined that he was under the influence of alcohol and he was arrested.
- State police troopers from the Highland barracks stopped New Windsor resident Christopher Raymond, 45, on Denniston Road in Gardiner for a vehicle and traffic law violation. During the stop, it was determined that Raymond was in possession of methamphetamine and he was arrested.
- State police troopers from the Greenville barracks stopped Howells resident Patrick Carey, 35, on Dolson Avenue in Middletown for a vehicle and traffic law violation. During the stop, it was determined that Carey was under the influence of alcohol and he was arrested.
- State police troopers from the Middletown barracks stopped Middletown resident Shane Burris, 26, on I-84 in Wallkill for a vehicle and traffic law violation. During the stop, it was determined that Burris was under the influence of drugs and he was arrested for DWAI.
Thursday, March 1:
- State police troopers from the Middletown barracks stopped Middletown resident Jeremiah Beaulivet, 32, on Route 17 in Wallkill for a vehicle and traffic law violation. During the stop, it was determined that Beaulvet was under the influence of drugs and he was arrested for DWAI.
Each of the arrested parties was charged with driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor. Each has since been released to a sober third-party and are due back in court later this year to answer the charges.
